Polyacrylamide is, simply called PAM, a water- soluble high polymer and widely used in petroleum, paper-making, metallurgical, textile, chemical and environment protection fields. There are three categories of anionic(APAM), cationic (CPAM)and non-ionic(NPAM) type.

APAM,CPAM and NPAM appear as white particles/powder. All three can be used as flocculants. they can accelerate the sedimentation of particles in the suspension, and can be used for the flocculation and sedimentation of various industrial wastewaters, and for the precipitation and clarification of water.

CPAM is a linear polymer compound, which can form hydrogen bonds by affinity and adsorption with many substances. It has the functions of removing turbidity, decolorization, adsorption and adhesion. Its unique decolorization ability is widely used in the decolorization of high-chroma wastewater from dye factories. The decolorization rate of wastewater is as high as 95% and the removal rate of COD is between 40% and 70%.
