LARNED – Raymond Perez, 76, passed away May 13, 2023 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.
He was born November 22, 1946 in Kinsley, Kansas, the son of Clemente and Lucia Mariche Perez.
A longtime area resident, he was a Road Maintenance Supervisor for KDOT. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Larned Country Club, and PVCH Auxiliary, all of Larned. He coached Legion Baseball, Renegades Girl's Softball, and basketball at Sacred Heart, and he also enjoyed league bowling and playing softball.
On August 26, 1967 he married Cynthia "Cindy" Meeker at Kinsley; she survives.
Other survivors include: son, Lynn (Toni) Perez, Pratt; daughter, Rachel Perez, Larned; brother, Tony (Darla) Perez, Larned; sister, Linda (Frank) Garcia, Wichita; seven grandchildren, Brittney (Eddie), Adrian, Avion, Andreus (Julie), Reiley (Aaron), Cade, Halley; and five great-grandchildren, Ozlyn, Kamila, KeAndre, Zayne, Aalias.
He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, John Perez, Terry Perez, Felix Perez, Manuel Perez, Guadalupe "Lupe" Perez, Pete Perez, Frank Perez; three sisters, Eleanor Sanders, Jane Bronson, and Trinidad Ruiz.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned, with Father Bernard Felix presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2023 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with family present from 5-7 p.m. A vigil and rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
